Volunteer EMT, Damascus Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department

Served with my local Fire & Rescue department by supporting emergency response, public event medical coverage, and community safety efforts. Through calls and events such as harvest celebrations, July Fourth fireworks, senior mulch deliveries, and local gatherings, I learned that service extends beyond moments of crisis. It also means showing up for the everyday work that helps a community feel safe, supported, and connected.

Spectrum Guardians Volunteer Program

Created a student volunteer group that brought high school mentors together to support children with autism across local schools. Volunteers helped with weekly mentoring sessions focused on communication, social interaction, confidence, and everyday independence. The program gave students a meaningful way to serve while building a consistent support system for younger children in the community.

Sun2Water Community Project

  • Worked on a solar-powered water purification effort focused on helping communities access cleaner water. Rather than treating it only as a science or engineering project, I saw it as a form of service: using problem-solving to address a basic human need. Through Sun2Water, I helped develop and share a practical solution that could support families and communities where safe water access is limited.

  • Ecostyle and Green Corners, SGAP Projects: Participated in SGAP community sustainability projects that connected environmental awareness with everyday action. Through Ecostyle, I helped promote more conscious choices around clothing, reuse, and reducing waste. Through Green Corners, I supported efforts to make sustainability more visible in shared spaces, encouraging students and community members to think about how small habits can contribute to a cleaner environment.

Head Coach for Clarksburg Coyotes 12U Flag Football

As head coach for the Clarksburg Coyotes 12U girls flag football team, I led twenty middle-school athletes by shifting away from strict command-and-control tactics toward patience, clarity, and trust. To bridge the gap between complex playbooks and youth athletics, I designed structured playbooks, led position-specific drills, and explained the purpose behind every strategy so players understood both the "what" and the "why." By fostering an environment where intense competition coexisted with encouragement, I helped build a supportive team culture that nurtured discipline, communication, and sportsmanship. Through coaching, I learned that true leadership begins with meeting people where they are, then earning the trust to guide them forward.
